Rappin’ At Ya, Mr. President!

Yo! George Bush!
This is the land of the brave,
And the home of the free.
And in case you haven’t noticed,
I’m not an Iraqi.

This is America, Mr. President,
Of which I am a born and bred resident.
A gay man who is out and proud,
Not someone wrapped up in a shroud.

This is America, Mr. President,
Not some third-world oil rich nation.
I don’t just come here for vacation.
I live in this country, this land of the free,
And I’m equal to you, and you’re equal to me.

Now some Congressmen want to amend the Constitution,
And word it to stand for bigotry and hate.
Is this what you think makes America great?
While you went and started a war,
We’ve got problems on our own shore.

Many Americans still live in poverty,
And now you want to deny me my civil liberties.
Yes, you George Bush, are supporting bigotry,
While you take a one day vacation
To get a free meal with the troops
Before they get killed by a militant Iraqi.

You got to come home,
And not worry about bullets flying over your head.
You got to sleep in your rich man’s bed.
You tell us what we should hold sacred,
But your vision of the world is one that I dread.

You tell us we must go to war,
And then to homosexuals
Threaten to shut the marriage door.
Change the Constitution cause it doesn’t suit your cronies.
You and your ilk are just a bunch of bigots and phonies.

If being gay would make you richer than you are,
You’d all be goin’ down in the backseat of my car.
You’re version of morality sickens me,
And I was born in the land of the free.
So don’t be tellin’ me who to marry
Or who to fight,
Cause your “just cause,"
Just ain’t right!

This is America,
Home of the brave,
And land of the free,
And I’m not feeling threatened
By the Iraqi.

Dick Cheney, George Bush,
And the Republican Party,
Are the ones shaming America,
Making us appear ignorant and sorry.
America is a melting pot,
Not some third world hot spot.

So start treating the American people
With more respect.
Don’t tell homosexuals they are second-class citizens,
And don’t be startin’ wars to correct your daddy’s failures,
Because we get to choose your tenure.

We don’t accept your stupid declarations,
Of what is sacred or right.
One man, one woman, don’t mean a thing,
When the divorce rate is ruled by the bling bling.

So while you and Congress want to dictate,
Who can be my legal mate,
I suggest you ponder your political fate,
And stop all this foolish debate.

The homosexual is made by God,
And while to you that may seem odd,
We are what we are by nature,
And denying us our rights,
Shows the world just how immature you are.

Grow up, and accept the inevitable change,
Or better yet, go back home on the range.
We are here to stay,
And we’re proud to be gay.
Life partners, companions, husbands, wives or mates,
For your approval we just won’t wait.
We approve of who we are,
And that matters more than you stupid old war.
So defend democracy,
Or defend your hypocritical view of marriage,
Either way the world views you as just another savage.

I know this is bitter,
And sounds like a complaint,
But the true image of America has become very faint.
We stood for equality, where every man is free,
So don’t give the Iraqi people freedom,
And then try to limit me.
It only makes you look bad,
And that makes America look sad.

Like the rest of the world,
America is a part of,
This is not something you are above.
I’m tired of rappin’ to make my point,
You and Dick Cheney ain’t no saints.

So I’ll be voting against you in oh-four.
Because I want equality, freedom, and no more war!
