Could Be
After the storybook wedding,
after the picture perfect romance,
after time passes and reality sets in,
then life just might get interesting.
Things might seem grim,
and all the joy may be gone,
but the reality of life will make you carry on.
Bills will still need to be paid,
and you'll still have the desire to get laid,
and not getting your way will still suck,
and you'll start to feel down on your luck.
But it won't be for naught,
even if things aren't working out as you think they ought,
and everyday with anger and rage is fraught,
because every thing can change.
And in a moment,
an instant,
a second of time,
I could be yours,
and you could be mine.
For a brief repose,
we can once again share,
and love and laugh, and live.
And then we can part,
without breaking each others hearts,
and time will be set right again.
