A Queer Anthem Rap

I may not be superior,
but I’m not inferior.
Society failed,
most of them bailed.
Lessons left unlearned,
now here we are again.

Doing over what’s already been done,
takin’ away our chance for fun.
Now it’s time to say forget the rules,
we’ve all been played for fools.
Manipulated by political tools.

Puppet master’s strings being cut,
no more being stuck in this rut.
You don’t control me; I’m a free gay man.
I got my own agenda, live by my own plan.

Society taught me to be this way,
but God is the one who made me gay.
I’m a natural creation of nature,
that society failed to nurture.
Like a hot house flower being neglected,
I relied too much on those leaders elected.

Now I know and grow beyond my restraints,
I run with the sinners, and sing with the saints.
I’m everything I want to be,
because I won’t let anyone stop me.
Society failed,
most of them bailed,
lessons unlearned,
left us to burn.

Now we are strong,
and equally belong.
Get used to it Jack,
my DNA is a fact!
Don’t go dissin’ me,
cause you’re only pissin me.

I won’t take your crap,
cause I’m the one who wrote this rap.
I’m the creator, and you’re just jive,
a bunch of people barely alive.
Livin’ in fear, givin’ up your rights,
not even choosing your own fights.

Being led around by your fears,
terrified of us queers.
Suckin’ up to us with “Out” TV,
Queer Eye For The Straight Guy sure ain’t me.

I’m out and I’m proud, and comin’ on strong,
Cause society has done me wrong!
Now it’s time to set things right,
And I won’t give up without a fight.
I’ll get my way cause it’s the right thing to do,
cause queer people are equal to you.

Don’t gimme no shit, cause I won’t listen,
it’s my time to lie in the sun and glisten.
Straight people gotta accept me for what I am,
cause I’m spent my lives accepting and protecting them.

No more giving in to them unconditionally,
their free ride is no longer free.
They can thank bigots; who would Constitutionally deny me,
for my public persona, and lack of fear,
for my being a proud and out and in your face queer!

But I don’t rap this as a voice of hate,
and I’m not predictin’ a straight doomed fate.
We gotta learn to all work together,
it’s the only way we can make this world better.
We’ve gotta learn to love and accept one another,
and not sit in judgment of each other.
Black, Asian and white, Muslim, Christian, Pagan and Jew,
We all must work together as a New World Crew.
We’ve gotta make things right for each other now,
cause iffen we don’t the world ain’t goin’ on no how.

Too much hate can obliterate,
so everyone must learn to tolerate.
Acceptance is the only thing that’s cool,
and hate is preached by ignorant fools.
We can all be one strong universal force,
and take the world on a whole new course.
Now is the time and we are the way,
so let’s start making things right today.

No more hate,
let’s learn to love,
as below
so above.
